Pay Grade: Paraprofessional 040 (195 days)
JOB GOAL:
Maintain accurate and complete student data records pertaining to student attendance and records, maintain confidentiality of information
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively use district student management programs after standard training and with reasonable help--desk assistance
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform all clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate and complete student attendance and other student records within established district guidelines.
- Coordinate with campus and district staff to record all student attendance information in the student management system for submission to the state.
- Responsible for management of TEA Campus Attendance Verification Reports.
- Record tardies and refer consistently students to Attendance Officer when students arrive late.
- Responsible for management of I Am Present.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student attendance issues.
- Ensure that all student absences are followed--up with on a daily basis; maintain absence notes for each student.
- Responsible for running Cognos reports for Attendance
- Work with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other staff to implement intervention plans for students with attendance issues.

Work with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other staff to implement positive approaches to improving student attendance and punctuality.
- Transfer and request student cumulative records as students enter/withdraw within and outside the district and manage all TREx processes.

Maintain all student active and inactive cumulative files.
- Be responsive to customers by backing up the receptionist during peak office hours.
- Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Receive incoming calls and take reliable messages as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and student records.
- Remain informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.

Field calls and respond to customers while Receptionist is at lunch.

Serve as a “back--up” to the Data Processing Clerk through comprehensive cross--
Training.
