JOB TITLE: Data Processing/Counselor Clerk
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PAY GRADE: 040 (213 Days)
REPORTS TO: Principal
This position is eligible for a Letter of Reasonable Assurance
JOB GOAL: Maintain accurate and complete schedule/grade records and assist counselors as needed; maintain confidentiality of information and records
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of general office equipment
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding skills
Ability to operate computer/peripherals using a variety of basic applications
Ability to effectively use district programs after basic training and with reasonable help-desk assistance
Experience:
One year of clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background.
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform all clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate and complete student records, including, but not limited to, schedules, grades, and demographic information
- Assist parents/guardians to verify documentation and complete enrollment forms; prepare initial cumulative record folder
- Transfer and request student cumulative records and transcripts as students enter/withdraw within and outside the district
- Assist counselors, students, teachers, and parents as needed
- Assist in distribution of report cards and standardized testing results as directed
- Assist in compiling information to be used in requested reports and correspondence
- Perform receptionist duties in the office as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of information and student records
- Keeps informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.

Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
