PRIMARY PURPOSE: Supervise, manage, direct, and administer the Facilities and School Support  Departments to ensure that all equipment and facilities are kept in a good state of repair and/or appearance, and operated on an on-going basis, efficiently and effectively to provide a desirable environment for the learning process, at all times, throughout the district. Facilities Department includes the management of maintenance, grounds, energy management, regulatory compliance, operations, and warehouse.  Assist immediate supervisor to effectively coordinate all facility services maintenance including district planning, budgeting, and procurement of goods and services in support of the District's strategic plan.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

 

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in maintaining a large plant or building, including a minimum of (3) years of supervisory experience in maintenance and custodial operations. Such alternatives to these qualifications as the Superintendent may find necessary or appropriate.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent district wide travel. Ability to drive in severe weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, stoop, and/or crawl. Visual acuity. Ability to conduct on-site inspections of all maintenance facilities and construction projects. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

 

Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
