PRIMARY PURPOSE:Maintain technology equipment providing both hardware and software technical assistance as needed

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Set up and maintain the operations of all computer systems and other campus technologies as determined by Technical Services Department.
  2. Coordinate repairs on all technology related equipment on district campuses.
  3. Work with Technical Services, Instructional Technology and Infrastructure departments as needed to assist in major technology installations in the district.
  4. Troubleshoot and help support campus wireless and wired networks.
  5. Installation of licensed software for all departments as required by Technical Services.
  6. Maintain district electronic inventory database and work order system (TMS) of computers and auxiliary equipment.
  7. Keep current with technology advancements and maintain district required certifications
  8. Demonstrate positive customer service relations.
  9. Communicate regularly with supervisor about ongoing projects.
  10. Collaborate with others in a team environment.
  11. Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations, as well as campus procedures, concerning technology and its use.
  12. Any other duties as directed by Technical Services Department.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:   Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Ability to climb ladder and work overhead.  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 

 

Safety:  Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
